Soup for one pot

Onion first, until the edges go clear. Then potato, cut too thick on purpose, and the carrot that had started to bend in the drawer.

Water, not stock. I did not want another jar open. Salt at the end, after the potato had given up and turned the liquid cloudy.

It fed one bowl and a second smaller one the next day. The pot soaked overnight. In the morning the starch came off with hot water and no scrubbing.
